I feel like I've had a major fail. My books are up on Barnes & Noble, Chapters/Indigo (Canada), and Alibris (UK). That sounds like a great thing, right? Here's the sticky part: I never checked to see if there was another author named Leslie Welch when I settled on my byline.
When readers click on the link to my name on these sites, books by the other Leslie Welch show up. Let's just say we don't write the same genre. Eek! My publisher is working on unlinking my book from the other titles, but I'm kicking myself for not realizing this sooner.
So, if you're beginning your publishing journey, you may want to research your name first. Unless your parents named you J.K. Rowling. That would probably boost your sales a bit.
